It seems like every giant monster fan is excited for Godzilla vs Kong, and no doubt they’re hoping for plenty of monster action. Well, it sounds like the movie is going to deliver on that front – it’s just been revealed that the aircraft carrier scene teased in the Godzilla vs Kong trailers will actually be an incredible 18 minutes long. The information was revealed by the film’s composer, Junkie XL.
He mentioned as much while appearing on the Film Junkee Vodka Stream. As Junkie XL stated regarding the aircraft carrier scene in Godzilla vs Kong:
“I’m not going to say how this thing ends but there’s some spectacular… and then so, this scene that was released today, was it on IGN? Forty seconds of footage? That scene is 18 minutes long and it’s ridiculous.”
When you consider that the scene is actually 18 minutes long, it really emphasizes just how little the trailers have revealed about the upcoming film. Clearly this will be a massive event for giant monster fans, and one which should deliver on the battle between both Godzilla and Kong. The film’s release date just can’t get here soon enough.
Here’s the plot for the latest installment in the MonsterVerse film series…
“In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.”
The movie was directed by Adam Wingard from a script written by Terry Rossio, Patrick McKay, J.D. Payne, Lindsey Beer, Cat Vasko, T.S. Nowlin, J. Michael Straczynski. The cast includes Julian Dennison, Brian Tyree Henry, Danai Gurira, Kyle Chandler, Ziyi Zhang, Millie Bobby Brown, Demian Bichir, Rebecca Hall, Jessica Henwick, Shun Oguri, Alexander Skarsgård, Lance Reddick.
Fans will be able to finally see Godzilla vs. Kong when it hits theaters and HBO Max on March 26 simultaneously.
