One of the most anticipated villains that is possibly coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the classic Fantastic Four antagonist, Victor Von Doom. Doctor Doom has been a thorn in the side of the entire Marvel comic book universe, even reaching godhood levels at times. He is a compelling character with a rich history and arguably one of the most popular villains in all of comics. A new rumor suggests that Marvel has someone in mind to play Doom, and it’s a person familiar with Marvel villains.
Giant Freakin’ Robot is reporting that an anonymous source has told them that Michael Fassbender, the man who played Magneto in the later Fox X-Men films, is in negotiations to play Doctor Doom in the MCU. This would be an interesting casting, if true. Fassbender definitely can play Doctor Doom to a tee, but fans might find it a little hard to remove him from his time as Magneto. Regardless, it would still be a great choice for the role, especially if Doom ends up being the Big Bad of the MCU that he is rumored to be. Getting Fassbender into the MCU in any way would be great.
Rumors of Doctor Doom’s involvement in the MCU have been around for quite a while, now. A big rumor at the end of 2019 suggested that the iconic villain would be making his debut in Black Panther 2. As always though, be sure to take these rumors with a grain of salt, as some of them turn out being incorrect. Michael Fassbender would be a pretty good choice, though, and we’re sure most fans of the MCU would agree with that assessment. Whenever official casting news comes out, we’ll be sure to get it to you.
