2020 was a terrible year all around, possibly the worst in modern history. Amongst all of the issues we faced as humanity, we also loss some iconic people that did their best to entertain us as well as worked towards the betterment of mankind. One of the most shocking of those losses was Chadwick Boseman. After a long but very secretive battle with cancer, Boseman unexpectedly passed away at the age of 43. He left a legacy of people who had their souls touched by his work, beit directly or indirectly. Now, determined to honor his legacy, Marvel is trying to figure out the best way to move forward with Black Panther 2.
Fandomwire is claiming that they have an inside exclusive on what is to come for Black Panther 2. They claim that the film will start with Boseman’s T’Challa in the Black Panther costume in some sort of tribute/send off scene. Shuri will then take up the mantle, and the story will move forward as planned. They say that most of the film will be underwater as Namor the Submariner will be the villain, leading to a fight between Wakanda and Atlantis. In the end, though, it would seem that Doctor Doom was the true villain pulling the strings, leading to Doom’s further involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It’s important to point out that this flies in the face of what Kevin Feige and others at Marvel have said. Everyone has stated that there will be no stand-in for Chadwick, nor a CGI version or ‘deepfake’ version. So, this supposed opening send off scene goes against what Marvel has stated up to this point. For now, just take this with a grain of salt. The inclusion of both Namor and Doom has been rumored for quite some time, however, so maybe this part of their story can still ring true. Whatever happens, we won’t truly know anything until Marvel wants us to know.
