Fans can finally watch the first trailer for the highly anticipated Wrong Turn reboot! The latest entry in the memorable horror film franchise from director Mike P. Nelson looks to be an interesting take on the familiar film series. And for fans that have gotten a bit weary of the last couple of straight-to-video sequels, this new reboot should definitely make up for it, if the trailer that was just released today is any indication of what’s to come.
The new Wrong Turn reboot was directed by Mike P. Nelson from a script written by Alan B. McElroy. Audiences can expect to see Charlotte Vega, Adain Bradley, Bill Sage, Emma Dumont, Dylan McTee, Daisy Head, Tim DeZarn, and Matthew Modine.
“In the latest installment, Vega plays Jen, who sets out to hike the Appalachian Trail with a group of friends. Despite warnings to stick to the trail, the hikers stray off course — and cross into land inhabited by The Foundation, a hidden community of mountain dwellers who use deadly means to protect their way of life. Suddenly under siege, Jen and her friends seem headed to the point of no return, unless Jen’s father (Matthew Modine) can reach them in time.”
As stated above, this both looks and sounds like a refreshing take on the familiar concepts the franchise is known for. It’s already been stated that the film is a re-imagining, and with that in mind, it also looks like it’ll retain all of the gore and horror that the series is known for. Hopefully fans won’t be disappointed and the Wrong Turn franchise will be able to throw itself back on track, especially after seeing this new trailer.
As revealed by EW, Wrong Turn will be available in theaters for one night only on January 26, 2021. You’ll be able to order tickets for the premiere event which are only available at Fathom Events and at movie theater box offices starting January 8.
