New release dates have been confirmed for Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther 2, and Captain Marvel 2. Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige made the announcement during the Disney Investor Day event on Thursday, alongside a lot of other big news for the MCU.
The Taika Waititi-directed Thor: Love and Thunder will be moving from a February 2022 release to May 6, 2022. It was also confirmed that Christian Bale would be joining the film as the villainous Gorr the God Butcher, which could spell some serious trouble for a fan-favourite character. Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson are all set to reprise their roles for the film.

The release date of Black Panther 2 has been delayed from May 2022 to July 8th, 2022. The sequel will be written and directed by Ryan Coogler. Marvel has confirmed that, in honour of Chadwick Boseman and his portrayal of T’Challa, the character won’t be recast — and it will be exploring the world of Wakanda, as well as the characters that were introduced in the first film.
Brie Larson‘s Carol Danvers will be flying back into cinemas a few months later than originally planned for Captain Marvel 2. The film, directed by Nia DaCosta, was originally scheduled for a July 2022 release. Instead, it will be released on November 11, 2022. Iman Vellani and WandVision‘s Teyonah Parris will also appear in the film as Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau, respectively.
