In one of many new announcements made by Disney today during their Investor Day presentations, they’ve now announced a Star Wars series based on Lando Calrissian! The character has been a hit with audiences in both the Solo movie and of course the original Star Wars trilogy, as well as his appearance in The Rise of Skywalker. According to the new announcement, the Lando series is being developed by Dear White People creator Justin Simien. However, there hasn’t been any mention whether or not Donald Glover from Solo or Billy Dee Williams from the original saga will be playing Lando – or if someone else entirely could be playing the character in the “brand-new event series”.
However, chances are, Donald Glover will be portraying Lando in the new series. After all, he’s previously been suggested to return at some point – and it makes sense that the series would focus on the younger days of the character. In any case, we’ll have to wait for an official announcement on that front. For now, the only confirmation we have is Justin Simien’s involvement.
As stated by Disney’s official announcement:
The galaxy’s favorite scoundrel, Lando Calrissian, will return in Lando, a brand-new event series for
@DisneyPlus. Justin Simien is in the early stages of developing the project.

We should hopefully have more details on this upcoming Star Wars series soon.
