While fans have been wondering where the Alien franchise would go following the release of Alien: Covenant, it seems the answer has been revealed. The Alien franchise will be getting a brand new TV series which is scheduled to premiere on FX. The series is being developed under Noah Hawley, the creator of Fargo and Legion – two of the network’s biggest series.
It’s a massive announcement, especially considering Noah Hawley previously implied the project wouldn’t be coming together, at least not with him involved. But it seems things have changed since then, and the newly announced Alien TV series now has the greenlight.
According to the official announcement made by Disney, who gained rights to the Alien franchise following their acquisition of Fox:
“Alien is currently in development at @FXNetworks. The first TV series based on the classic film series is helmed by Fargo and Legion’s @noahhawley. Expect a scary thrill ride set not too far in the future here on Earth.”
