The marketing campaign for Godzilla vs. Kong has yet to really take off. While toys based on the film and the occasional blurry image have been spotted every now and then, there has been very little else released for the upcoming clash of titans. We were recently told that the film will be released in theaters and HBO Max in 2021 – and following that announcement, some new footage has leaked out from CCXP over the weekend – as well as a new logo – all signs that point to WB launching into a heavy marketing campaign.
As you can see from the footage below, there isn’t much to go off of, but we do see that Kong is in chains. We also see Godzilla swimming at full speed underwater. One can assume that Kong being in chains is a tribute to the original King Kong films – and it’ll be interesting to see how that is used in the new film.

The new logo isn’t terribly different from the previous Godzilla vs. Kong logo. The name Godzilla is still colored in blue, while Kong features a more yellow color as opposed to the previous orange design. The fonts are rather different as well, with the addition of triangular points at random angles.
The new MonsterVerse film stars Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Eiza González, Jessica Henwick, Julian Dennison, Kyle Chandler, and Demián Bichir.
Godzilla vs. Kong was directed by Adam Wingard, from a script written by Eric Pearson and Max Borenstein. The film’s story was devised by Terry Rossio, Godzilla: King of the Monsters director Michael Dougherty, and Zach Shields.
At this current moment in time, Godzilla vs. Kong is expected in theaters and HBO Max on May 21, 2021.
