Avengers: Endgame saw a whole new side to Thor that fans truly enjoyed. After falling into a deep depression as he felt solely responsible for not ‘going for the head’ and stopping Thanos before the snap, the God of Thunder became the God of beer and Cheetos, letting himself go. Fat Thor, or Bro Thor – as he was officially known, saw a 1500 year old god-level being crumble into despair, and was more human than most in the film. Fans loved Chris Hemsworth’s run as the chunky Avenger as well as his redemption story in it. Now, as we prepare for Thor: Love and Thunder, it looks like we’re getting a fit Thor once again.
Chris Hemsworth is getting himself back into superhero shape, per his Instagram. The actor recently showed off his ‘cheat day doughnut’ which is actually a massive weighted tire-like contraption that he’s flipping as part of his workout. Hemsworth has recently started a fitness app called Centrfit, and this is something he attached along with this.

Chris Pratt, who is now set to join Hemsworth in Thor 4, commented on the post, asking Hemsworth to stop getting so bluff before filming. This plays off the Star-Lord/Thor underlying rivalry from the previous films, and always good for a laugh.
It’s unclear exactly how director Taika Waititi will approach Thor’s transformation in the in film. Now, since the ‘weight gain’ was actually a prosthetic suit, Hemsworth could still be Fat Thor for some of the film. But, he looks to be bigger, muscle wise, than ever before, so its unclear what will happen with all of that for the film. Hopefully, Waititi makes an 80’s style training montage with the song ‘You’re The Best’ from The Karate Kid and gives us the best possible ending to Fat Thor.
It’s also worth pointing out that he could be bulking up for the upcoming Hulk Hogan biopic, in which the actor is set to play the WWE icon. Hogan actually tweeted about the workout, and endorsed Hemsworth in the role:
He’s already there! He’s ready BROTHER!!! But is he good looking enough to play me lol, lol, lol. HH pic.twitter.com/q6LLfWUGgL
