The ongoing issues between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have been massive to stay the least, with a variety of lawsuits ultimately leading to Johnny Depp resigning from his role in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. It’s a move that upset many of his fans, especially those who believe Johnny Depp is innocent. Amber Heard, on the other hand, is apparently moving forward with her career just fine. In fact, Amber Heard has already stated she’ll be back for Aquaman 2 – something that many fans are eagerly petitioning against. Interestingly, Amber Heard seems to think the individuals behind these campaigns are being paid.
As pointed out via Giant Freakin Robot:
“Paid rumors and paid campaigns on social media don’t dictate [casting decisions] because they have no basis in reality,” Heard previously stated.
It’s an interesting statement, especially considering what we have known about the issues between her and Johnny Depp. There are a lot of stories and different sides to each of them, but seeing Amber Heard suggest that there are paid rumors and campaigns when there isn’t really any proof of such things is rather surprising. Nevertheless, perhaps there could be more than meets the eye – in which case an investigation would most certainly be appreciated.
In any case, Johnny Depp has since made clear that he wants to prove himself innocent against Amber Heard, so we’ll probably continue hearing support from both sides until a clear cut answer is given. For the time being, it does look like we can expect to see Amber Heard make another appearance in the DC franchise with Aquaman 2. The actress has stated she intends to be a part of the film’s production once shooting begins sometime in 2021. With that said, stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any further updates on Amber Heard and Johnny Depp as we have them.
