It’s something that many fans were hoping for, especially nearing the height of the Halloween season, and Blumhouse managed to deliver! The studio unleashed an all new Halloween Kills teaser at their BlumFest virtual event, one which reveals Michael Myers in all of his bloody glory. The brand new footage featured in the teaser shows Michael Myers as he picks up his burned mask, not to mention a variety of new characters, as well as a glimpse at the carnage that’s to come.
It’s a lot to unpack, especially in what’s a little 36 second teaser, but it definitely delivers a nice tease for what should be a great sequel. Director David Gordon Green stated during the event that the film will include “twice the thrills and ten times the kills.” And that is definitely evident in the new teaser. While we only get one kill from the film teased, it appears that it’ll be an incredibly violent one.
Of course, it’s perhaps also Michael Myers’ mask in the new movie that’s one of the biggest highlights of the teaser. It appears to be damaged and burned, a look that’s very appropriate considering how we last saw Michael Myers in the 2018 film. We also got our first look at actor Anthony Michael Hall as Tommy Doyle. As stated above, there was a lot to unpack in this small new Halloween Kills teaser. And despite the obviously unfortunate delay, this teaser should be the perfect Halloween treat to get fans excited for the release of Halloween Kills in 2021.
Halloween Kills was directed by David Gordon Green who also helmed the 2018 film. He wrote the script alongside Danny McBride and Scott Teems.
The film features a cast that includes Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Charles Cyphers, Anthony Michael Hall, Kyle Richards, Nancy Stephens, Jibrail Nantambu, and Robert Longstreet. James Jude Courtney and Nick Castle both return as Michael Myers.
Audiences will not be able to see Halloween Kills until later next year, when the film hits theaters on October 15, 2021.
