It looks like modern scream queen Emma Roberts is continuing to expand her work in the horror genre. According to a new announcement, Emma Roberts will be involved with a new horror television series titled First Kill. The series, which is intended to be available on Netflix, will focus on a group of vampires. Emma Roberts is involved as an executive producer on the show.
As pointed out in the new announcement for the series shared by Variety, the new Netflix series First Kill was so far only ordered for one season. The first season of the show will consist of eight one hour long episodes. The series is based on a short story by the same name from author Victoria “V.E.” Schwab.
In the new series, which is set to follow both families of vampires and vampire hunters…
“When it’s time for teenage vampire Juliette to make her first kill so she can take her place among a powerful vampire family, she sets her sights on a new girl in town named Calliope. But much to Juliette’s surprise, Calliope is a vampire hunter, from a family of celebrated slayers. Both find that the other won’t be so easy to kill and, unfortunately, way too easy to fall for.”
Aside from Emma Roberts executive producing, the series will also be executive produced and co-written by creator Victoria “V.E.” Schwab. Felicia D. Henderson will act as series showrunner.
It’ll be exciting to see how this series turns out, especially considering the names behind it. Hopefully it goes well for Netflix, and we’ll continue to see more horror content produced by the streaming service. Not to mention, it’ll be great to see more vampire television shows get made. It’s a fun genre – so hopefully Emma Roberts, Victoria “V.E.” Schwab, and Felica D. Henderson will all deliver.
