There’s no doubt that Friday the 13th will one day again return to the big screen. The only question is a matter of when. But while we wait for the inevitable, some fans have decided to take on the responsibility of keeping Jason Voorhees and Friday the 13th alive themselves. This is the case with yet another new fan film, this one simply titled Voorhees, that brings back slasher icon Jason Voorhees for a new round of carnage. Now you can see the final trailer for the fan film Voorhees down below.
The undead slasher villain was brought to life this time by writer and director Cody Faulk, via Wet Paint Pictures. And as you can see in the below trailer for Voorhees, he did quite an interesting job with the material.
As for the plot of the new fan film…
“After pulling off the perfect heist, a dangerous crew of thieves flee town to the seclusion of the nearby woods. All they have to do is make it through the night so they can get away clean but their sadistic leader has taken them to the long deserted Camp Crystal Lake, a place that is no longer on any maps and for good reason. Unaware of the location’s notorious past, the fugitives begin to explore their temporary hideout and soon realize that this place has a very dark and violent history that they are soon about to become part of.
“It is a race to morning where the lines between bad and pure evil are blurred and the fight to survive the awakened legend of Camp Crystal Lake is much more than they bargained for.”
Whenever there is an update for the return of Jason Voorhees on the big screen, we’ll be sure to let you know. As many of you already realize, the last time we saw the character was in the 2009 remake of Friday the 13th from Platinum Dunes – which wasn’t very well received at all. Here’s hoping we get to see the character make an official return sooner rather than later, as the horror industry just isn’t the same without Jason – or Freddy Krueger for that matter.
For now, though, fans that are interested in seeing Cody Faulk’s new fan film titled Voorhees will fittingly be able to watch it this October 31, on Halloween.
