As with the way most things have been this year, the theatrical schedule for Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was greatly disrupted by the Coronavirus pandemic. With things still slowly coming back together this year, it’s been revealed that new release dates have been given to a variety of upcoming MCU movies – including those which were originally scheduled for this year.
The new release dates, which were recently revealed by The Walt Disney Company via Marvel, were announced for the three Marvel Cinematic Universe films Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Eternals. The new dates for the massive MCU blockbusters have been given as follows:
Black Widow – May 7, 2021
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings – July 9, 2021
Eternals – November 5, 2021
The newly given release dates are definitely extremely exciting news for Marvel fans that were disappointed by this year’s unfortunate delays. The entire theatrical schedule for most movies which were intended to be released this year had been removed, and now only time will tell how everything will continue to be rescheduled. While we do know when the new Marvel movies will have their release dates, there are still plenty of movies from both 2020 and now 2021 which will be shuffled all throughout next year.
In any case, we should all be thankful for the new release dates given – and hopefully things will continue to go smoothly enough to insure they meet their scheduled release dates this time. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any other theatrical release date updates, especially now that Marvel has unveiled theirs – there will no doubt be plenty of other releases getting scheduled throughout the year. With films like Morbius, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and so many more having also been impacted, it’ll be interesting to see where everything will ultimately fit in.
