The Friday the 13th franchise has been dormant for over a decade now, and fans are getting restless. In an effort to keep the series alive, some fans have been producing different fan films inspired by the Friday the 13th franchise. One of the most notorious Friday the 13th fan films based upon the property has been Never Hike Alone, especially because it saw the return of actor Thom Mathews to the role of Tommy Jarvis. Now fans will be getting a fan film prequel to Never Hike Alone, this time titled Never Hike in the Snow.
Interestingly, this fan film will be showing off Jason Voorhees in a winter scenario. Many fans have been eager to see what Camp Crystal Lake would look like covered in snow, and that’s exactly what those behind Never Hike in the Snow have set out to do. You can get an idea of what it will be like in the trailer below.
In the new fan film…
“Set three months prior to ‘Never Hike Alone,’ ‘Never Hike in the Snow’ follows the strange disappearance of Mark Hill (Courtlan Gordon), a Crystal Lake resident who went for a hike in the dead of winter and never came home.
As Local Wessex County Sheriff Rick Cologne (Vinny Guastaferro) and Deputy Allen Mabry (Bryan Forrest) search for answers, town local Tommy Jarvis (Thom Mathews) believes that his old nemesis Jason Voorhees (Vincente DiSanti) is to blame. Will Diana Hill (Anna Campbell) ever see her son again, or will her son become another lost victim of the cursed camp?”
While it’s unclear whether or not we’ll finally be getting a proper new Friday the 13th movie, these fan films are a decent way to make the wait more bearable. Hopefully Never Hike in the Snow will deliver for fans who’ve been hoping to see Jason Voorhees make his way through a winter setting.
