It has been an incredibly disheartening weekend as everyone around the world was caught utterly off guard by the shocking news that Black Panther star and amazing activist, Chadwick Boseman, had succumbed to colon cancer and passed away in his home at the age of 43. The world was rocked by the news, and many fellow actors, athletes, and other celebrities reached out to show their love for the actor and the man. Now, as we all try to deal with yet another low blow from 2020, Twitter has let us know that the final tweet from his official account has become the most like tweet of all time.
Boseman’s family posted a lovely tribute to the actor on his official Twitter account to announce his passing. That tweet has now become the most liked tweet in history with over 7 million likes and over 3 million retweets and comments.

In a modern, social media driven world, this is a massive showing of love for Boseman. This tweet surpasses other massive moments from Ellen Degeneres, Barack Obama, and others. Along with the massive outcry of love for this tweet, people like Robert Downey Jr. have shown their love for the man behind the roles, and others are stunned by the fact that Boseman created such amazing art and did so much work for charities all while battling this disease for 4 years in private.
This all still seems like some kind of sick fever dream. 2020 just doesn’t seem real. It’s been one of, if not the, worst years in recent history. And losing such a bright light is another wound that won’t heal anytime soon. Chadwick Boseman was not only one of the world’s greatest actors, only scratching the surface of his talent, but his charity work and activism is something that will truly be remembered for eternity. His art makes him immortal, but his heart makes him legendary. We miss you, Chadwick.
