Nothing is set in stone in the entertainment industry, and Squidbillies voice actor Stuart D. Baker learned this lesson after he was fired from the Adult Swim series. Baker portrayed the voice for one of the show’s lead characters, Early Cuyler, for 15 years. But that came to an end after Baker made some rather controversial social media comments.
Firstly, he made a Facebook post, via Variety, that criticized singer Dolly Parton for wearing a Black Lives Matter shirt. Here’s what he said, rather vulgarly:
“So, now this freak titted, old Southern bimbo is a BLM Lover? Remember, slut, Rednecks made you a Millionaire!”
Obviously a comment like that is due for some backlash, and Stuart D. Baker had a response for that as well:
“HAVE FUN forsaking your own race, culture and heritage,” he said after telling any offended “liberals” to unfriend him if they didn’t like what he had to say.
Obviously these aren’t the types of things anyone should say, much less on social media, and the posts continued to spread across the Internet even after Baker deleted his Facebook account.
The creators of Squidbillies, Jim Fortier and Dave Willis, quickly gave the following statement:
“We’re aware of the extremely offensive and derogatory social media posts made late last week by Stuart D. Baker,” the statement reads. “The views he expressed do not reflect our own personal values or the values of the show that we and many others have worked hard to produce over the past 15 years. For those reasons, production of Squidbillies will continue without Mr. Baker, effective immediately.”

Baker apparently released this statement before deleting his Facebook:
“Folks, I’ve been fired from my Cartoon Show, lost my endorsements and my chance of ever being booked by any Music Venue as Unknown Hinson again.”
He added:
“I just hope you a-holes are happy you took a good Man and talent down. You succeeded. Be proud that you ruined a person’s life all because of [the] Freak Show called ‘Dolly Parton and BLM.’ Thanks a lot. I gave my best to you assholes for over 30 years. I guess you just love to kick someone when they’re down. That’s so twisted and perverted. Again, thanks! I’m [sic] remember you bastards!”
While Baker was with the show since its creation up until now, it seems he’ll be getting replaced by a currently unknown actor for the future season(s). It’s very ironic, considering the character he voiced was a rather stereotypical redneck. But while one was satire, it seems Baker was unfortunately the real deal – and that just doesn’t cut it.
