The Wolf Creek franchise is without a doubt one of the most successful modern day slasher franchises. The Wolf Creek property overall consists of two feature films and two seasons of a television series, all of which feature actor John Jarratt as psychopathic outback serial killer Mick Taylor. Obviously fans are eager to see Jarratt return as Mick Taylor for more slasher mayhem, either for Wolf Creek 3 or another season of the show – and as it turns out, that’s actually the plan!
John Jarratt revealed that both Wolf Creek 3 and a new season of the television series are currently being developed by Greg McLean, although progress has temporarily stalled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Here’s how John Jarratt explained the situation in a recent Facebook post:
“I have received an overwhelming amount of messages about Wolf Creek 3 the season and the movie. Greg McLean and I have both projects in the works but unfortunately Covid-19 has the world at a standstill. I promise to keep you updated as we all try our best to get through these tough times.” Jarratt posted.

This is definitely exciting news to hear, especially considering we’ll be getting more Wolf Creek on both cinematic and televised formats. Fans of slasher movies are rarely satisfied, always eager to see their favorite killers return again and again. Luckily it seems like Mick Taylor will have his opportunity to do that very thing, albeit once the pandemic spreading across the world begins to settle down.
In the meantime, fans can still enjoy the current amount of content available under the Wolf Creek name – because both the movies and show are all excellently crafted. At a time when slasher properties don’t tend to do as well as they did in the 1980’s, Wolf Creek certainly lives up to the expectations and then some.
Hopefully we’ll hear more news on the subject soon, so stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any updates as we have them.
