Everything old is new again, as the saying goes, and that means we’re seeing revivals of two 1990’s classics – both with actress Neve Campbell – Scream and The Craft. While the upcoming Scream film is technically going to be Scream 5, and will likely see a return from actress Neve Campbell, it appears that she won’t be offering the same kind of support to Blumhouse’s upcoming remake of The Craft.
In fact, while speaking with Collider, Neve Campbell emphasized how little interest she has in the remake or making an appearance in it. However, she was nice enough to at least wish everyone involved with the project the best of luck. Here’s what Neve Campbell had to say:
“With the new Craft, we’ll see. For me, I didn’t really wanna be a part of it, but I think they’ve got a very interesting take, and I hope they get a chance to do something great. I think the timing might’ve been challenging with COVID, but hopefully they’ll be able to finish the film.”
Although it doesn’t look like Neve Campbell will be showing up any time soon for The Craft remake on the way from Blumhouse, fans can likely expect her to return in Scream 5. For now, however, there haven’t been any release dates given for either film project. Although Scream 5 is expected to shoot later this year and The Craft has already completed filming.
The Craft does star Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, Zoey Luna, Michelle Monaghan, and David Duchovny. The cast also includes Nicholas Galitzine, Charles Vandervaart, Donald MacLean Jr., Julian Grey, Hannah Gordon, Mike Dara, Owen Szabo, Chris Tomassetti, and Devin Cecchetto.
It was executive produced by Andrew Fleming, co-writer and director of the original film. Jason Blum, Douglas Wick, and Lucy Fisher are attached to the project as producers. Zoe Lister-Jones directed the film.
