The current Coronavirus pandemic has had a massive impact on the filmmaking industry. Film productions were forced to shut down and movie theaters likewise had to do the same. As a result this has forced a massive change in scheduled release dates for both completed and incomplete movies as well as shows. While the bad news on that front just doesn’t seem to end, there’s now some good news as well. It turns out that Mike Flanagan doesn’t think the Coronavirus pandemic will at all delay The Haunting of Bly Manor.
As it turns out, most of the show’s production before the Coronavirus pandemic took hold. Therefore most of the post-production efforts are simply taking place from home while meeting quarantine guidelines. At the moment this means everything is “on schedule”, and that there shouldn’t be any expected delay for The Haunting of Bly Manor.
Here’s what Mike Flanagan specifically had to say, via Twitter:
“Going great. Still on schedule, we wrapped before the shutdown and post production has carrying on from home. The show is shaping up wonderfully, I’m thrilled with it. At the moment no reason to think it’ll be pushed. @netflix will announce the release date when they’re ready.”

The new season titled The Haunting of Bly Manor is set to adapt the famous Henry James novel The Turn of the Screw.
Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Victoria Pedretti, Henry Thomas, and Kate Siegel will all return from The Haunting of Hill House albeit as new characters. They’ll also be joined by several new cast members including Rahul Kohli, T’Nia Miller, and Amelia Eve.
This new season will also share several new directors working alongside season one director Mike Flanagan – Yolanda Ramke & Ben Howling, Ciarán Foy, Liam Gavin, and Axelle Carolyn.
Hopefully things continue to work out for the upcoming new series and that we can expect more official announcements regarding The Haunting of Bly Manor very soon from Netflix.
