The Coronavirus continues to impact our society greatly, with a majority of people spending their days in quarantine trying to limit the virus’ spread. While a majority of people have accepted this reality, there are stories of those who refuse to self-isolate, such as the spring breakers in Miami who have simply brushed off the legitimacy of the virus. This has drawn criticism from many pundits, including Winter Soldier himself Sebastian Stan.
Appearing remotely on the Muscle and Fitness podcast, Sebastian Stan heavily criticized the people who refuse to self-isolate during the Coronavirus. Check out his passionate plea:
“But what makes me insane is seeing that the beaches in f***ing Miami are still flooded with these f***ing idiots. Dude, they’re dumb f***s and it pisses me off and it really makes me insane because that’s actually the problem right there. We gotta remember our grandparents and parents have survived way worse and we can do out part here.”
Stan also reflected on the essential workers who are still showing up to work during this time, admiring the sacrifice they are making:
“I talked to a couple friends who are in the workforce like cops out there sleeping in their garages, working 20 hours a day; nurses coming home and not being able to hold their children because they’re afraid they’re going to contaminate their families, then going back to work. You hear that stuff and it blows my mind because it makes me feel like I have such privilege to be able to sit around here while these people are beating themselves.”
I am sure most people in our society share the sentiments that Stan has towards those who don’t self-isolate, as its extremely necessary to prevent any further spread. It’s good that a celebrity like him is using his platform to spread important messages during this challenging time.
