People are self-quarantining at the moment due to the Coronavirus, and that means we’re forced to come up with ways to entertain ourselves during the boredom. Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot recently posted a video that was an attempt to cheer people up during this crisis, but it appears that has backfired, based on the reaction. It’s a star-studded cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine” song, and features cameos from celebrities like Mark Ruffalo, Will Ferrell and more.

Some of the reaction to the cover can be found below:
I wonder whether Gal Gadot hummed this song to herself as she funneled Palestinians through a checkpoint gate during her military service.

I have no job. My savings is fast depleting. I have no prospects for revenue as my city of 10M is in lockdown and an economic free fall.

I’ve always hated this song. “Imagine no possessions” sung by some of the wealthiest people in the world

This is one of the grossest things I’ve ever seen.

#Imagine you have finally corralled every person who has ever wronged you into one room. #Imagine you have amphitheater-level speakers in that room. Imagine you can shed your ethical ambivalence and you play this video. On a loop. Until they die. #Imagine. pic.twitter.com/ZJ7IgHUWCx

Imagine being a millionaire.
Imagine being quarantined in luxury.
Imagine thinking a song helps anyone.
Imagine singing while people die.
Imagine not doing anything to actually help.— (@ebonrook_film) March 19, 2020

Hey celebs, we don’t want to be sung to. We want you to use a million or two of your money and order ventilators, masks, and gloves from the manufacturers then donate them to a hospital. Or pay for the salaries of an entire staff at a bar, restaurant, or daycare. #imagine

Nothing like rich famous people singing “imagine no possessions” in their mortgage free homes as the rest of society queue at Lidl for broken biscuits. https://t.co/T5jSVl6VPw

No politician can unify people in the way that the “Imagine” video seems to have united every single person against it.

And the reaction on there wasn’t much better, with some of the comments found below:
- This is so unbelievably tone deaf and self-aggrandizing. Stop. You are overestimating your self-importance.
- Shame on you for posting this and not instead donating your wealth to help people in need!
- Idiot “hollyweird” singing from their million dollar mansions . The stupidity of these is mind blowing !
- This is amazing. Thank you for posting this. I’m glad to see they are doing okay from their third home with all the luxuries in the world while I’m worried about how I will pay rent.
- Girl please . We are so over Hollywood and your bs
- I mean… I wish I could quarantine in a big mansion. Just imagine.
Yikes.
