It’s been a hard time lately for Friday the 13th fans. The actual Friday the 13th franchise has been famously stuck at the hands of lawyers and endless lawsuits over the last couple of years, forcing fans to wait an unknown amount of time before anything official can happen with the franchise again. Officially, that is. But unofficially? It’s actually a pretty awesome time for Friday the 13th fans – mostly due to the high quality fan films that have been getting released, most popularly of which has been Womp Stomp Films’ Never Hike Alone. The movie has been an incredible success within the Friday the 13th community, and now Womp Stomp is finally close to delivering a continuation – titled Never Hike in the Snow – which has just finished filming.
Now that Never Hike in the Snow has wrapped filming, it’s time for Womp Stomp Films to place the fan film in post production. As a means to celebrate, a variety of new stills from the upcoming fan film have been released on the film’s Indiegogo! As you can see down below, the movie looks to be the same high quality level of production that Never Hike Alone is best remembered for.
Of course, there are a variety of other reasons Never Hike Alone was a hit with fans – one such reason being the appearance of actor Thom Mathews as Tommy Jarvis. Mathews previously played Tommy Jarvis in the actual Friday the 13th film series, having appeared in Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives. He’ll now be taking on the role again for Never Hike in the Snow, alongside another Jason Lives actor that will be returning from the original film franchise, Rick Cologne.
What’s more, Never Hike in the Snow will finally give us a Friday the 13th film set in the winter – a setting that has long since been requested by fans for years. By finally getting to see Jason Voorhees in the snow, the team at Womp Stomp Films will once again no doubt have a hit with Friday the 13th fans.
Aside from the above mentioned stars, Courtlan Gordon, Anna Campbell, Bryan Forrest, and Vincente DiSanti will also be joining the cast. A release date for Never Hike in the Snow should be announced in the near future.
