The notorious lawsuit between actor Johnny Depp and his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard, reached a completely new level recently when the two stars decided to use text conversations with mutual CAA talent agent, Christian Carino, as evidence in court. The texts were first sent in 2016, and were the result of alleged reports of domestic abuse that ultimately led to the divorce between Depp and Heard.
In fact, Johnny Depp texted Carino and called Amber Heard’s accusations a “flat out lie”. He wrote to Carino after Heard’s lawyers said Depp violated a restraining order placed against him when Carino started a meeting between Depp and Heard to try and get the two to make up. Here’s what Depp texted as quoted by The Blast:
“I want this done with as much as her,” Depp started. “What can I do??? Admit something that never happened!??? And just swallow a … ‘flat out lie’? She needs to be reasonable…I ain’t carrying an underserved wife beater charge on my back for her!”
Interestingly, however, it seems there was a more sensitive response from Amber Heard at one point. She did contact Carino as well and seemed to show a deep concern for Johnny Depp and his wellbeing. As she texted also via The Blast:
”Christian – do you think he and I will ever speak again?” once message read from Heard, dated October 2, 2016. She followed up wanting to know, “Does he hate me?” and “I don’t’ see why or how we could just stop talking to each other…Or how are why we could both want to talk to each other, either.”
Apparently Carino told her to “leave it alone for a while,” and she seemed to until her breakup with Elon Musk brought up old feelings and she contacted Carino again.
“Dealing with break up,” Heard wrote, adding “I hate when things go public …. C, I’m so sad”
But he chose a more straightforward response this time, reminding Heard that even she told Carino that Musk was just a rebound.
“You weren’t in love with him and you told me a thousand times you were just filling space,” he wrote.
Heard responded with:
“I know,” but added that “I wanted time to grieve and recover in my own time.”
She continued, “I hate that yet again a man let’s me fall on the spikes by myself…Meaning. They are mad at me for leaving them and put things like this out there…like that.”
Carino gave her some additional advice and told her not to date anyone “uber” famous. She responded by saying he should take his own advice, a hit at the fact he was once engaged to Lady Gaga. She then wrote:
“I wasn’t ready for another relationship or breakup to be out there but yet it is…”
She then sent a string of messages all focused on her feelings for Johnny Depp.
“I’m devastated…I want to give up”
“Nothing has ever broken my heart more than losing JD…And it has always been that way”
“C, do you ever think we could ever speak again…I don’t know how to ever survive.”
Heard then asked Carino if he’d ever be able to pass a written message from her to Depp.
“I [have] written so many notes…Can you give him one? I don’t know how or where to start There’s no way to begin/ end all I have to say but I have so many. Finally, I am single. Clear in my heart and mind. I just want him to know I loved him. And that I am sorry,” Heard wrote.
Of course, she didn’t want to make the note look suspicious giving the timing of her breakup with Musk.
“Also. A little worried that if he gets it now it will seem like I’m doing so because of my break up with Elon.”
Meanwhile, going back to the texts that Johnny Depp sent Carino, he seemed outright overwhelmed by the entire ordeal with Amber Heard. As he wrote via Hot New Hip Hop:
“It feels like a dream and a nightmare all in one, it was difficult to not die when our eyes met. i have no choice but to dive into those pools of green. they represent every millisecond of what we had. i miss her. i love her. i always will. as will she. there were some difficult things to swallow…but, one either swallows or chokes.”
Meanwhile in another text he wrote:
“What I wanted was a fresh start with my wife. which, i thought was what she wanted. she should do what she really feels…if her priorities are not us, then i will proceed and do what i have to do. i dangle no more.”
Amber Heard also went on about the pain she felt leaving Johnny Depp in another text to Carino:
“I’m afraid I am setting myself up to fall back in again. It was so hard to leave him. I’ve been through too much. And I see no future in this. And every time I see him it’s like my chest is ripped open and every piece of my soul is ground down to a pulp. Since seeing him in San Francisco, I have been a complete mess. I literally have been sobbing all day and night.”
It certainly seems like both Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are going to have a tough time in court now that these texts are out in the open.
