The fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is continuing to expand with projects in production for both the big and small screen. As it turns out, Thor: Love and Thunder, the next entry in the Thor franchise of films, finally has a date for when production will start. According to the film’s director, Taika Waititi, we can expect the production schedule for Thor: Love and Thunder to start in August, as he revealed in a new interview.
Taika Waititi previously directed the last installment in the series, Thor: Ragnarok, which received mostly positive reviews from both fans and critics. As such, it’s no surprise that he’s been given reigns on this new film as well.
And he’s going to begin shooting it in Australia, where most of the previous film Thor: Ragnarok was shot as well. Currently, however, Australia is suffering from a series of wildfires. But we can assume the problem will be taken care of by August and the Thor: Love and Thunder production schedule will continue as planned.

The film will once again star Chris Hemsworth as the iconic superhero Thor. He’ll be joined alongside returning costars Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson.
It’ll certainly be interesting getting to see director Taika Waititi get behind the camera for another new Thor installment, especially one which will reunite several recurring stars from throughout the franchise and allow them a chance to reprise their memorable Marvel characters. And we can only hope that the wildfires won’t disrupt the film’s production at all, because it would certainly be a nice way of keeping continuity to see the movie shot where Thor: Ragnarok once was.
Thor: Love and Thunder will hit theaters on November 5, 2021.
