A new trailer for the upcoming Gretel and Hansel movie from Orion Pictures has been released, and while the story itself has always been a bit dark – you might not be expecting the type of darkness that the new film will apparently bring. As you can see from the trailer below, it’s a pretty terrifying version of the classic story we’ve all come to know.

The film’s synopsis reads:
A long time ago in a distant fairytale countryside, a young girl leads her little brother into a dark wood in desperate search of food and work, only to stumble upon a nexus of terrifying evil.
The movie stars Sophia Lillis, Sammy Leakey, Alice Krige, Charles Babalola and Jessica De Gouw.
Gretel and Hansel hits theaters everywhere on January 31st.
