One of the many traditions that people tend to follow through on this time of year, especially as we get closer to Christmas Day, is the repeated listening to classic holiday songs that help with the Christmas time atmosphere. While many celebrities have helped indulge these traditions by providing their own recordings of iconic Christmas songs, one person in particular – Bill McClintock – decided it would be better to merge two unlikely celebrities in an attempt to fork his own merry mashup. Specifically, he combined tracks by both Marilyn Manson and Mariah Carey.
The two tracks that he managed to combine – in a rather frighteningly matching fashion – are none other than Marilyn Manson’s The Beautiful People and Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You. Oddly enough, it’d be one thing to either mix two opposing singers like that together. And it’s another thing to attempt mixing Christmas music with a song that’s nothing close to Christmas.
But taking one of Marilyn Manson’s songs, and one of Mariah Carey’s songs about Christmas, and merging those together? It creates something surreal that disturbingly enough works almost perfectly.
As you can also see in the music video below which combines The Beautiful People and All I Want For Christmas Is You, it’s clear that Bill McClintock also spliced music video footage between the two songs together. And strangely enough, that seems to work just as well too. You wouldn’t expect Marilyn Manson’s unique and gothic makeup to go along with the Christmas spirit, and maybe it’s just the shock of hearing and seeing everything come together, but I’d say it all mashes together pretty well.
Nevertheless, it’s up to the individual to decide. You can check out the music video and see for yourself whether or not Marilyn Manson and his song The Beautiful People can work when combined with Mariah Carey and her All I Want For Christmas Is You.
