The iconic novel Dracula written by Bram Stoker is receiving yet another new adaptation, this time from a co-production between both the BBC and Netflix. The new miniseries is set to consist of three episodes, each one lasting a 90 minute runtime. Now we know when the new miniseries is finally set to premiere.
It’s been revealed that the Dracula miniseries, which will air on BBC One as well as BBC iPlayer, will have its first 90 minute long episode debut on January 1, 2020. What a great way to start off the new year! The next two episodes will premiere on January 2 and January 3, respectively.
Here are the titles for the three 90 minute long episodes:
- “The Rules of the Beast”
- “Blood Vessel”
- “The Dark Compass”
In the new miniseries which stars actor Claes Bang as the titular Count Dracula…
“In Transylvania in 1897, the blood drinking Count is drawing his plans against Victorian London.”
The cast for the upcoming Dracula miniseries also includes stars John Heffernan, Dolly Wells, Joanna Scanlan, Morfydd Clark and Lujza Richter.
Jonny Campbell directed the first episode for the series, Damon Thomas directed the second episode, and Paul McGuigan directed the third and final episode of the miniseries.
The series was written and created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss. You may recognize them as the two behind BBC’s Sherlock. And given how they managed to reinvent that particularly iconic story, it’ll be a blast to see what they did to reinvent Count Dracula and his reign of horror.
While we now know the dates in which the miniseries will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, the Netflix premiere dates have yet to be revealed.
