The memorable comic book series written by Jonathan Maberry is getting an adaptation from Netflix titled V Wars. As you can see in Netflix’s newly released trailer down below, it looks to be a rather exciting adaptation.
The new series will see star Ian Somerhalder as Dr. Luther Swann who “enters a world of untold horror when a mysterious disease transforms his best friend into a murderous predator who feeds on other humans. As the disease spreads and more people are transformed, society fractures into opposing camps pitting normal people against the growing number of these ‘vampires.’ Swann races against time to understand what’s happening, while Fayne rises to become the powerful underground leader of the vampires.”
Hopefully the new series does justice to the original comics and the expectations they’ve set. But with the cast they’ve put together, fans should be excited to see how Netflix’s adaptation of V Wars comes through. After all, is there ever enough vampire-related entertainment? Luckily fans of V Wars won’t have to wait too long for the series. Netflix will release all of the episodes for Season One of V Wars at the same time, starting next month.
Aside from Ian Somerhalder, the series also stars Adrian Holmes (Arrow) as Michael Fayne, Peter Outerbridge (The Umbrella Academy) as Calix Niklos, Laura Vandervoort (Bitten, Smallville) as Mila Dubov, Kyle Breitkopf (The Whispers) as Dez, Jacky Lai (Beyond) as Kaylee Vo, and Kimberly-Sue Murray (Shadowhunters) as Danika.
The new series V Wars is set to premiere on Netflix’s streaming platform December 5, 2019.
