As the Halloween season approaches its end, many are petitioning to see the day after Halloween, November 1st, to be removed from their school calendars. It’s an interesting contrast to previous petitions which suggested moving Halloween away from the schooldays altogether – and in this scenario October 31st would retain its rightful place as Halloween.
According to one particular petition which suggests removing school on November 1st,
“We think that there should not be school after this holiday of Halloween because people will be tired and or there are party traditions going on!”
Many have commented on the petition citing their reasons for signing and why the suggestion would be a beneficial one for students.
“Even though this isn’t my school, I think that this it totally unfair for you guys. My school doesn’t have school tomorrow, and I’m grateful for that. But this is WAY not cool for you guys!”
“We don’t need to go to school on the day after Halloween. We are kids and should be able to spend time with our friends. To make friends. To make memories. Not to dread going back to this prison we all are forced to go to”
“I believe it makes more sense to have a day off after Halloween. A lot of kids get super excited about getting to dress up for Halloween but they can’t stay up late to enjoy all the candy they got”
Obviously there are plenty of reasons why a petition like this would be beneficial. And considering that there are so many petitions concerned with changing Halloween and its associated schooldays – then perhaps something more appropriate should be done with rearranging the school hours.
