The Russo Brothers have been talking about Marvel, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame so much that you swore that’s what their lives are all about. The duo did the impossible by featuring everyone from the MCU in one single movie that it has garnered the two an over obedience amount of interviews. From print to online to television, the two have been everywhere saying every interesting fact about their movies but sometimes, a mistake maybe is made. Iron Man / Tony Stark was there at the beginning Marvel Studios Infinity Saga and sometimes the hero can come off a bit too arrogant.
However, the character’s arch from Mr. Know-It-All to hero Avenger was welcomed from audience members and made his death all that more gut-punching. Yet, someone swore up and down that one of the Russo brothers had a problem with Tony Stark dating back to the first Avengers movie.
It seems to be that one of the Russo brothers was misquoted during an interview and was dead set on killing Tony Stark for a while now. To nip this misquote in the butt and not allow it to grow any further, the directing duo took their joint Twitter account.
Here’s what they had to say:

The statement is a good way to correct anything that might be misheard or false while at the same time, poking fun at the idea. The duo has never shown signs of disdain for Iron Man or any of the other MCU characters.
The misquote in question comes from Joe Russo’s appearance on the Tonight Show and shows Joe Russo taking shots at the Iron Man. The line “genius billionaire playboy philanthropist” was a great one from the first Avengers movie and showcases the level of ego Stark had in the film. Eventually, the character would better humble himself and the arc we saw in the movies is something that will go down in film history.
