Crisis on Infinite Earths is set to be the biggest crossover event yet in the CW’s Arrowverse. Encompassing all five shows, including Arrow in its final season, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and the newest addition, Batwoman, this is set to be a huge moment. And, thanks to San Diego Comi-Con, we’ve gotten great information on some of what is to come. We’ve already heard that Brandon Routh will be pulling double duty as the actor will not only play Ray Palmer, but will also once again don the cape as Superman (possibly a Kingdom Come style older Supes). Now, a legend will be joining the event, bringing more comic book history to the fold.
During the Batwoman panel at SDCC, it was announced that Burt Ward, who played Robin in the iconic Batman ‘66 television series, will be making an appearance in Crisis. Now, it is unclear as to if Ward will be playing an older Robin or someone else entirely, but his addition adds great history and significance to the Arrowverse. We have seen other classic superhero actors brought into the fold, like Johnathan Wesley Shipp and Linda Carter. Carter never spun into the Wonder Woman persona, but we did get Shipp back in his classic 90’s Flash attire.
Whatever capacity that Ward is joining the Arrowverse, the Crisis is shaping up to be one of the biggest superhero crossover events in television history. Based on the massive comic book event that altered DC Comics forever, the event looks to do the same for the Arrowverse. Now, with this being Arrow’s final season, it would seem that roles will be changed, and Green Arrow will make the sacrifice, rather than Flash and Supergirl.
But, what role will Ward play in all of this?
