Well, it looks like one rumor about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been debunked. Millie Bobby Brown, of Stranger Things, has been rumored multiple times to have a part in the future MCU film, The Eternals. However, the young actress has addressed these rumors herself, and it’s probably not what fans want to hear.
During an Instagram Q&A, Brown made no bones of the issue, stating that her and her family haven’t heard anything from Marvel, much less has she been cast in any Marvel film.
“Everybody thinks I’m going to be in a Marvel movie – not that I know of.”
She added:
“My family and I have no idea, so I just want to let everyone know that I’m not, as of right now.”
Variety previously reported that Brown would be a part of the San Diego Comi-Con Hall H panel for Marvel. ComicBook also reported a little over a month ago that Brown would play a gender swapped Sprite in The Eternals.
Now, Brown could be playing the Marvel game, here. She could be covering up any involvement until Marvel is ready to announce her casting. This wouldn’t be out of place for Marvel, as secrecy is key within the studio. But, her denial is pretty adamant. She denies even having so much as a conversation with the studio. This would be taking the secrecy a bit too far, so maybe this really isn’t happening.
Brown is a hot commodity right now, with the incredible success of Stranger Things as well as appearing in Godzilla: King Of Monsters. She would be a fantastic addition to the MCU and would play a great Sprite. Hopefully, if the talks haven’t happen already, Marvel can get on the ball and give the young rising star a call.
