One of our favourite witchy women is returning to our screens in an energetic home-invasion horror being released next month. Trespassers features The Craft‘s Fairuza Balk alongside The Final Girls’ Angela Trimbur. Watch the creepy trailer below:
It looks like it will be an entertaining watch although it doesn’t look all that unique and seems to follow the typical tropes of a home-invasion horror story that we have seen many times before. Of course, I could be wrong and the movie could have so much more to offer than what is presented in the trailer but how many more times are we going to see dumb people let the shady person in? I don’t think it will be that impressive or groundbreaking so let’s just hope it doesn’t end up being a complete waste of time.
In Trespassers…
Two couples, each working through relationship issues, rent a gorgeous house in the desert for a sex- and drug-fueled escape from reality. Sarah (Angela Trimbur) and Estelle (Janel Parrish) are longtime best friends looking forward to reconnecting after a period apart; their boyfriends, Joseph (Zach Avery) and Victor (Jonathan Howard), however, are immediately wary of one another. As tensions escalate over the course of a debaucherous night, things take an unexpected turn when a woman (Fairuza Balk) claiming to be a neighbor with car trouble shows up at the door. She seems harmless enough…or so they think. As the twists and turns pile up so does the body count in this stylish, blood- and neon-soaked thriller which hits with the furious force of a machete to the skull.
Orson Oblowitz directs the script written by Corey Deshon. Julio Hallivis and Diego Hallivis are the producers.
Trespassers is being released in theaters and VOD on July 12th.
