While notorious horror author Stephen King is often involved with social media, he recently did something special for his followers on Twitter. The grandmaster of the macabre decided to share a special story just for his readers, and it was enough to give everyone the creeps.
Stephen King began by teasing his fans, “Want a little bedtime story?”
“My friend felt he had a hair caught between his eye and his glasses. He couldn’t get rid of it, so he looked in the mirror. A tick was crawling on his eyeball.”
And, in true Crypt Keeper-themed fashion, he finished by telling his fans goodnight. “Nighty-night, sleep well.”

It’s definitely a fitting story for King’s caliber of work, even with just a handful of sentences he managed to freak out his fans. And, as someone who wears glasses, I definitely understand why.
Truly, Stephen King is a master of writing. And in a viral digital age where people like to challenge themselves by writing incredibly short stories, it’s fun to see the legendary horror author get in on the joke. At least, we can only hope he was joking. If there really was a tick on his friend’s eyeball, well, yikes.
And if you’re eager for more Stephen King fun, just remember that IT: Chapter Two is around the corner. The next adaptation of Stephen King’s iconic novel IT in IT: Chapter Two hits theaters on September 6, 2019.
