One of the most anticipated horror films this year happens to be the next half of Andy Muschietti’s adaptation of Stephen King’s IT , appropriately titled IT: Chapter 2. The film has been gaining additional hype ever since early April when CinemaCon aired a special teaser for the movie. Now fans are begging to see an official trailer for the flick – and it turns out there’s already one being prepared.
Barbara Muschietti, the director’s wife who is also producing the film, happened to tease that a trailer is indeed coming soon.
According to a recent post she made on Instagram,
“Andy Muschietti and Javier Botet also waiting for the trailer. I swear, it’s coming. Falta menos para el trailer! #besisatodes.”
It’s interesting that she makes note of Javier Botet. While the actor didn’t play a particularly large role in the first IT movie, he did take on the role of the Leper which haunted Eddie for a scene outside of Pennywise’s creepy house. Although we don’t know how Botet is involved this time around, it does seem like he will either be reprising his role as the Leper or another one of Pennywise’s twisted transformations.
Unfortunately there isn’t a specific release date given for the trailer, it does seem likely that sometime in the month of May we can expect a trailer to make an appearance. After all, Warner Bros. does have Godzilla: King of the Monsters coming soon – and it could be just the right place to sponsor Pennywise the Dancing Clown.
In the film…
“Because every 27 years evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine, IT: Chapter Two brings the characters—who’ve long since gone their separate ways—back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film.”
IT: Chapter 2 will hit theaters on September 19, 2019.
