Ever since its stunning debut trailer at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Godzilla: King of the Monsters has been high up on fans radars. Featuring a star-studded cast of Millie Bobbie Brown, Kyle Chandler, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and Vera Farmiga, this monster film has the potential to be more than just your average action film.
Roughly a month ahead of its release, Warner Brothers have released the final trailer for King of the Monsters, which is truly eye-popping with its larger than life visuals.
Check out the trailer along with the film’s synopsis:
“Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ cinematic MonsterVerse, an epic action adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.”
Every pre-release teaser and trailer for this film has impressed, with Krampus director Michael Doughtry making strong early impressions with the vibrant visuals. What I am most curious about with this film is tone, as the trailers have juggled between darker moments to something more awe-inspiring. If the film can juggle those two different tonalities, it can strike a balance that only the best of blockbusters can match.
