We are just days away from the long awaited and most anticipated movie of all time, Avengers: Endgame. The culmination of 22 films and over a decade of filmmaking, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 3 Finale is set to break box office records and blow the minds of every fan in the world. And, up until recently, Marvel was keeping it 100% under wraps. But, there’s been a sudden influx of trailers and clips which have given us a lot of insight as to what is to come. Or have they?
In a great 10 minute video with Rotten Tomatoes, directors’ Anthony and Joe Russo double down on their infamous “fake trailers” notion right from the start by simply stating that “Maybe it’s all fake. Maybe there’s not a single real frame in that trailer.” Now, as you can see from the brothers’ mannerisms and expressions, they are seemingly joking. But, they do have a history of tricking fans with falsehoods in their trailers. This keeps the plot a true secret.
And, while this statement may have been in jest, there is at least a little truth behind it. We have already seen that the first trailer released was altered to remove a certain character.
Regardless of whether the footage released is fake or not, it’s really only supposed to cover the first 20 minutes of the film anyways, so it really shouldn’t ruin anything for us fans. At this point, fans are salivating to the point of dehydration as they count down the hours til they finally get to see the Avengers’ last stand against the Mad Titan, Thanos. And no amount of faked trailers will ruin anything for us.
Do you think all the footage shown thus far is fake? Let us know in the comments below!
