It seems like there’s always some kind of Halo adaptation in the works, whether it’s live-action or some kind of animated project. The latest incarnation to adapt the world of Halo will be a live-action series for Showtime. The series was picked up for nine episodes, and is considered to be Showtime’s “most ambitious series ever.” They’ve also made a major statement not to be taken lightly, emphasizing that it will “enthrall fans while also drawing the uninitiated into a world of complex characters that populate this unique universe.”
The series will take an interesting turn as it focuses largely on Master Chief, and today we’ve learned the Halo icon will be played by actor Pablo Schreiber, best known for his work on the series American Gods. It’ll be exciting to see how he’ll bring to life such a classic character from the video games – especially considering how Master Chief is humanity’s only hope against the alien Covenant.

It was also revealed that the series will feature an all-new character named Quan Ah, to be played by Yerin Ha. Accordingly, Quan Ah is described as a shrewd, audacious teenager from the Outer Colonies. It seems they’ll meet Master Chief at some point and launch a major narrative for the series.
Here’s exactly what’s been said about the Halo television series in the past:
“Halo is our most ambitious series ever, and we expect audiences who have been anticipating it for years to be thoroughly rewarded. In the history of television, there simply has never been enough great science fiction. Kyle Killen’s scripts are thrilling, expansive and provocative, Rupert Wyatt is a wonderful, world-building director, and their vision of Halo will enthrall fans of the game while also drawing the uninitiated into a world of complex characters that populate this unique universe.”
It definitely sounds exciting to see such a large show take shape especially using the lore behind the Halo franchise. After seeing Showtime’s revival of Twin Peaks, I have a lot of hope they’ll do the property justice – and that should be extremely great news for fans of the video games.
