After the success of Rambo in 2008, I never thought we’d see Sylvester Stallone take on the role again. It was a more unbelievable task than making a sequel to Rambo III was, mostly due to Stallone’s increased age by this point. But the actor has pulled through and somehow managed to shoot the sequel we’ve all been begging to see – Rambo V: Last Blood.
It’s a fitting title, don’t you think? As the end of the franchise, I can’t think of a better name. And apparently there’ll be a whole lot more to this finale, according to the studio behind the film. Lionsgate apparently dropped an interesting nugget of information while presenting the film at CinemaCon.
According to Screen Rant’s Rob Keyes,
“Lionsgate boss Joe Drake on Rambo: Last Blood – Rambo is going out in a big way in something ‘truly unexpected’.”

It sounds like Last Blood will be a huge spectacle for fans of the character and franchise – something I’m sure most of us could’ve never expected in itself. As long as it stays as brutal and honest as the last installment as well as the original First Blood was, then you can count me in.
In the film…
“When the daughter of one of his friends is kidnapped, Rambo — who has been working on a ranch — crosses the U.S.-Mexico border and quickly finds himself up against the full might of one of Mexico’s most violent cartels.”
Adrian Grunberg directed the film which was written by Matt Cirulnick and star Sylvester Stallone himself.
Sergio Peris-Mencheta will play lead antagonist Hugo Martinez, leader of a brutal Mexican cartel. The film also stars Yvette Monreal, Adriana Barraza, Paz Vega, Oscar Jaenada and Joaquin Cosio.
Rambo V: Last Blood hits theaters on September 20, 2019.
