We are less than 30 days away from the release of arguably the most anticipated film of all time, Avengers: Endgame. The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 3 Finale wraps up the overarching storyline that has permeated throughout 20 plus movies that have spanned over a decade. As we prepare for what is surely to be an emotional roller coaster of a flick, fans have scoured through the trailers and the minuscule amount of marketing for any details as to what exactly is going to happen.
However, with the trailers being possibly full of lies, and the marketing supposedly only dealing with the first 20 minutes of the movie, it’s hard to get any actual clues. But, with the recent release of the character posters, something interesting has popped up.
Interesting to take note that only 4 out of 32 characters are facing the right side. Banner, Okoye, Cpt Marvel and Ant-Man and they are the ones alive too. Perhaps this is suggesting these 4 will play an important role in Endgame. pic.twitter.com/fAgJYaQjW7

Over on a Twitter, a user named ‘RËPHRÄ5Ë” combined all of the posters into one large pic, and noticed something slightly off. If you look closely, every character is looking to the left, all except for four of them: Bruce Banner, Captain Marvel, Ant-Man, and Okoye. Considering there are 32 characters pictured in total, just four looking the opposite direction seems to be more than just a random occurrence. The prevailing theory is that these characters will have the most significant roles in the film. Let’s break down why these four may just lead the fight against Thanos and save the day.
Captain Marvel is the most obvious one on the list. Already slated to be the future of the MCU, and previously defined as the strongest hero thus far, Carol Danvers finally joins our established heroes in the fight to save the universe. It’s all but certain that she will go toe to toe with Thanos. Her poster shifted to the right makes sense, if this is what was intended.
The next is Ant-Man. Again, this one makes sense. It’s been pretty well established that the Quantum Realm will play a huge part in this, and we know that Scott Lang escapes the realm and meets up with the Avengers. We also have seen the new suits that resemble Hank Pym’s Quantum suit, so this one seems like a no-brainer as well.
Bruce Banner is a slightly more vague one, here. While we’re all pretty sure the Hulk will return, the tumultuous relationship between the two is far from resolved. Many believe (thanks to concept art and toy leaks) that we will get a compromise between the two and get an MCU version of ‘Professor Hulk’. If that is the case, and we get a giant rage monster with tremendous strength and the brain of on of the most intelligent people in the MCU, we could be looking at a nearly unstoppable force.
Okoye is the most obscure of these four, at least at first. But let’s think about it for a bit. With Black Panther gone, as is half of Wakanda, someone strong would need to take control and lead the remaining people from here on out. Okoye would be a great choice, albeit probably reluctant at first. She is such a strong willed and intelligent character, though, her stepping up in the face of adversity the likes of which has never been seen before makes sense. It also falls in line with Kevin Feige’s statement that the MCU will be more than 50% female driven in the future.
While these four posters are obviously different and warrant some investigation as we’ve done here, there are two other posters I’d like to discuss. Take a look at Pepper Potts and Happy Hogan. While their heads are turned left, they’re facing more on center than the rest, and their eyes are darted to the right, were as everyone else is looking off to the left. Could this be in relation the fact that these two characters only have one more film after this one? We know that they both will be in Spider-Man: Far From Home, but is it their last film in the MCU?
We know that it’s Gwyneth Paltrow’s last film, as she’s already publicly retired from the MCU. And, with Iron Man most likely being done after Endgame, Jon Favreau will most likely also be bowing out after Far From Home. It may be nothing, but it does seem odd that their posters are slightly different than all the rest.
Being less than a month away until Avengers: Endgame is released, we will get all the answers to our queries soon enough. But, until then, we will have to keep investigating what little clues Marvel is seeping out to the public.
What do you think of these posters? Do these four stand to save the world? Let us know in the comments below!
