Art the Clown has quickly become something of an icon for the modern horror genre. After first appearing in the 2013 anthology film All Hallows’ Eve, the character was given his very own movie titled Terrifier in 2018. Now the character’s creator, Damian Leone, is teasing Terrifier 2!
He’s just finished the screenplay, and as stated on his Facebook account,
“For everyone who’s anxiously awaiting news regarding a Terrifier sequel, I can finally tell you that I’ve completed the screenplay and it is &%$#!*@ INSANE! Unfortunately, this is the only confirmation I can give right now but rest assured we’re working to bring you Terrifier 2 as soon as possible and we’re very excited to show you where Art’s diabolical journey goes from here! He’s back and he’s badder than ever!”
And if you’re worried about whether or not they’ll recast Art, have no fear, as actor David H. Thornton confirmed his involvement via Twitter.
“Just so you all know! I’ve had a chance to read it, and boy oh boy are you all in for a treat…and many tricks!”

It’s definitely a great announcement for fans of Art the Clown and Terrifier, and truly exciting to see a new slasher villain start to receive his own franchise. Let’s just hope they still focus on making it a decent sequel and not just rushing something out to cash in on the original’s surprise success.
