Just when you finally stopped hearing “Let It Go” literally everywhere, Disney just had to go and make a sequel. It’s no surprise; Frozen was one of the top grossing movies of 2013. And if there’s one thing Disney’s good at, it’s milking a cash cow ’til the udders fall off. So here comes Frozen 2, and we’ve got the trailer for you right here.
Returning from the original are primary human characters Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff; happy go lucky snowman Olaf; and Kristoff’s trusty steed, Sven the reindeer.
In the teaser (which is a bit darker than expected), Queen Elsa appears to be stranded on an uninhabited island. She’s using her ice-creation powers in an attempt to escape, freezing spots on the ocean to stand on, giving her the appearance of walking on water. However, the waves get the better of her time and time again.
Meanwhile, her sister, Princess Anna, along with her friend Kristoff and their anthropomorphic buddies, appear to be on a quest of their own. Perhaps they’re trying to rescue Elsa from the other end?
How the queen became marooned on a barren island is anyone’s guess. We’ll find out soon enough. In the meantime, let’s just all be grateful for the lack of singing in the trailer. (Though it’s sure to feature heavily in the film, given the huge success of the original’s soundtrack.)

Disney’s official description reads:
“Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf are going far in the forest to know the truth about an ancient mystery of their kingdom.”
What could this ancient mystery be? Will we discover the origins of the ice powers? What about the fate of Anna and Elsa’s parents?
These questions and more will be answered when Frozen 2 hits theaters on November 22. Do you plan to see it? What do you think of the shift in tone from the first film? Tell us in the comments!
