Thank the maker because a new The Twilight Zone is upon us and it’s not that far away. Last year we heard that Oscar-winning writer Jordan Peele struck a deal with CBS to bring a new and updated version of Rod Sterling’s classic anthology series, The Twilight Zone. The series was set to premiere on CBS’s streaming service, CBS Access, which is home to the critically acclaimed show, Star Trek: Discovery. News has been slowly coming down the pipeline that many actors and actresses were set to appear in the new episodes.
Updates of the casting were thrown around – like comedy and actor Kumail Nanjiani, Steven Yuen, actress Sanaa Lathan, and Adam Scott who is set to take the lead of one of The Twilight Zone’s most well-known stories, Nightmare at 20,000 Feet.
Recently, news dropped that the show will be arriving for your streaming needs on April 1st. So close that we can already hear the classic theme song. While speaking at the Television Critics Association Press Tour on Wednesday, CBS All Access Executive Vice President of Original Content Julie McNamara, let the date be known. Surprisingly, the premiere will feature two brand new episodes for audience members and will have a new installment arriving on a weekly basis every Thursday.

Aside from taking the role for executive producer, Jordan Peele will be the narrator and hosting the show as well. Many of the roles have been kept under wraps in order to keep fans guessing on who will be playing who in many of the episodes down the line. As a huge Twilight Zone fan who sees the massive level of creativity and nuance in Peele’s talent as a writer, the latest version of this show is something that is sure to be groundbreaking and thought-provoking like its predecessors.
