The spookiest season of the year is in full swing which means everyone is going all out autumnal with their food and drink choices. Pumpkin spice lattes have made a comeback alongside other popular seasonal spices, but if you are looking for something a little more hardcore this Halloween then you need to get yourself down to Burger King. The fast-food chain recently revealed a new frozen Fanta slushy in scary black cherry flavor. The drink has reportedly been turning tongues, amongst other things, black. However that’s not all from Burger King, they have also unveiled a new burger to get in the Halloween spirit.
The new burger, which was shared by NY Daily News, follows on from the legacy of the previous Halloween Whopper, and is called the Nightmare King. The burger has a green sesame seeded bun which is colored from watermelons, a 1/4 lb. of flame-grilled beef, a crispy chicken fillet, cheese, bacon, mayonnaise and onions, but that’s not all. This new and creepy looking burger has been reported to actually give the consumer nightmares.
A nightmare inducing Halloween burger is certainly a bold claim to make, but the fast-food giant have backed up their claim with evidence citing that the reason for the increase in nightmares is due to the combination of cheeses and protein in the creepy creation…
“According to previous studies, 4 percent of the population experiences nightmares in any given night,” Dr. Jose Gabriel Medina, a somnologist (sleep disorder specialist) and the study’s lead doctor, said in a statement. “But, after eating the Nightmare King, the data obtained from the study indicated that the incidence of nightmares increased by 3.5 times.”
So, if you’re brave enough to try the Nightmare King, it will be available at select locations from October 22nd.
