Ant-Man and the Wasp is now available for home release and fans are tirelessly scouring the film for Easter Eggs and clues towards the still untitled Avengers 4 (although Mark Ruffalo tried to let the title slip on ‘The Tonight Show’). Most of the time, these scavenger hunts lead fans to create some outrageous and often time horrendous fan theories. But, there is one theory coming out of the last Marvel Cinematic Universe film of 2018 that not only makes a lot of sense based on the evidence, but has some major implications going into the finale of the MCU’s Phase 3.
Reddit user, meme_abstinent, noticed a significant and abrupt change in the Quantum Realm during the incredible Mid-Credits Scene for Ant-Man and the Wasp. As Scott Lang enters the Quantum Realm, it is typical serene blue and green, tranquil and peaceful. But, after collecting some of the Quantum Healing Energy to further help heal Ghost, the Quantum Realm is inundated with a massive amount of excited orange orbs bouncing all around Lang.
At the same time, we find that Hank Pym, Janet Van Dyne, and Hope Van Dyne have all turned to dust from Thanos’ snap outside in the real world. Here’s the full theory to read for yourself:
Huge Avengers 4 discovery made in Ant-Man and the Wasp post credits scene. Major Spoilers from r/marvelstudios
This is an incredible revelation! And there is even a video to help correlate that appearance of the orange orbs with the timing of the snap! Could all of the souls that ‘died’ from the snap be trapped in the Quantum Realm?! Maybe the balance that Thanos wanted is unnatural in the grand scheme of the things, so instead of the souls entering whatever afterlife Marvel has, they are now trapped in the Quantum Realm. After all, the ‘balance’ in the real world could severely throw off the ‘balance’ of whatever afterlife is present in the MCU.
This provides a great way for Marvel to make all of the deaths from Infinity War ‘permanent’ while still being able to bring back the characters that they obviously need to bring back. This could also be what Dr. Strange saw all along, knowing how these different realms work, and that Lang would survive the snap by being inside the Quantum Realm during the event.
This is definitely one of the best theories to come out of everything so far. Of course, Marvel hasn’t confirmed anything on this theory yet, but, honestly, they can’t. If they did, it could potentially ruin the final film of Phase 3 before its release. We most likely won’t know anything until this film is released, as we’re sure Marvel Studios will be extra careful with any of the marketing they put out for the film, if they put out any at all.
At this point, Marvel could do zero marketing for A4 and it will still be the biggest box office movie of all time. The hype for this film is unheard of in Hollywood and it will most definitely shatter all records with its release next spring.
