The Twilight Zone was a sci-fi anthology series that first aired on CBS back in the 60’s. Each episode contained a different story that involved strange and often disturbing events. The show was made and presented by Rod Sterling. Although it is no secret that Jordan Peele is going to reboot the show, it would appear that it is coming a lot sooner than expected. The director confirmed this by posting the teaser trailer to his Twitter account.

The Twilight Zone originally ran for 5 seasons that contained 80 episodes. Although this isn’t the first time the show has been revived. One reboot ran from 1985-1989 with another starting in 2002 and ending a year later. There was also a movie adaptation of the show that was released in 1983.
About rebooting the show, Peele said:
“Rod Serling was an uncompromising visionary who not only shed light on social issues of his time, but prophesied issues of ours, I’m honored to carry on his legacy to a new generation of audiences as the gatekeeper of The Twilight Zone.”
Executive producing and collaborating on the pilot episode of The Twilight Zone reboot alongside Jordan Peele are Simon Kinberg and Marco Ramirez. The episode will air on CBS All Access but a specific date has not been confirmed yet.
The reveal of Jordan Peele acting as host, and assumedly narrator, is pretty much all we know about this revival so far. Nothing has been revealed about who is to star in the show, and it is still unclear as to whether it will follow the model of the original series and be an anthology of standalone stories.
The Twilight Zone will air in 2019.
