The Captain Marvel trailer is finally here! After a wait that seemed like forever, MCU fans finally have what they’ve been asking for – and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The Brie Larson starring movie will be even more anticipated after this trailer, which is no surprise given Marvel’s great history of epic trailers that deliver.
We were just given a first look at the film earlier this month, which revealed quite a bit – but obviously not as much as the trailer just did.
Captain Marvel was originally supposed to debut in Avengers: Infinity War, but co-writer Christopher Markus revealed why that didn’t happen:
“[Captain Marvel is] in some ways the closest to Captain America which is a weird, now rare kind of character which is sort of a person who’s right and knows they’re right and doesn’t really want to hear it when you tell them they’re wrong.
So, with all these flawed, f***ed up people and Quill who’s a mess and Tony who’s a massive ego all contorted. It’s fun to get another person with a clear vision in there and going, ‘Shut up.’”
Captain Marvel will instead debut when her solo film hits theaters everywhere on March 9th. The synopsis of which reads:
The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
The movie also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, with Annette Bening, and Jude Law. Guardians of the Galaxy actors Djimon Hounsou and Lee Pace also appear.
