Next month marks the return of the Predator franchise to the big screen and it’s going to be gory. Last year filmmaker Shane Black promised the gruesome movie would aim for an R-rating and with confirmation of the rating it looks like he is going to deliver. The Predator has received it’s rating due to “Strong bloody violence, language throughout, and crude sexual references.”
And, just to be clear… PG-13 is for pussies. Spines bleed… a lot.

The Predator is directed by Shane Black, who played Hawkins in the original movie. The cast includes Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K Brown, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey and Yvonne Strahovski.
In the latest instalment of the franchise…
“From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.”
Of course, the genetically advanced Predators come with a new look which seems to be popular with fans. About the transformation the director had this to say:
“Cause upon that hinged everything — whether you bought our heroes going up against him and felt a real threat for them. We had to invent a scenario in which the Predators were mysterious and scary again.”
The Predator will be released on September 14.
