For 17 years, Hugh Jackman embodied the cinematic version of everyone’s favorite feral X-Men member, Wolverine. His final take on the popular character was the in the James Mangold helmed blockbuster, Logan. The critically acclaimed film was Jackman’s swan song for the Canadian born mutant, but it didn’t mean the end of nods to his portrayal – and one has been noticed in The Greatest Showman.
While some nods have been extremely far from subtle, like the countless mentions and clips in the Deadpool movies, some Easter Eggs are far more subdued and quite hard to see. Take Jackman’s first project after Logan, The Greatest Showman. This musical about P.T. Barnum and the creation of his famous circus was a vast departure from the overly aggressive and violent Wolverine, but it didn’t stop them from throwing a little needle-in-a-haystack nod to the mutant.
During the title card in the credits for Executive Producer, James Mangold (that name look familiar?), the fancy scroll-work along the edge of the title cards contains a very interesting image buried inside. Once you take away the fancy outer scrollwork, you find an image of two crossed arms with protruding claws! That’s right, the graphics people hid an artistic rendition of the iconic Hugh Jackman/Wolverine pose, right on Mangold’s title card!
During the opening credits for The Greatest Showman, Executive Producer James Mangold had a custom border for his card. In the corner you can clearly see Wolverine’s arms & claws. Mangold directed Showman’s star Hugh Jackman in both Logan AND Wolverine. pic.twitter.com/HitDD393so

Little nods like that excite fans to no end. And, it’s great to see other films pay homage in even subtle ways to other movies. Maybe there are even more Easter Eggs hidden in the film we just haven’t found yet…
What did you think of this well hidden Easter Egg? Did you initially spot it? Let us know in the comments below!
